After 30 years as an engineering manager in a very high stress field I decided it was time for a change. A big change! Turning to my passion for woodworking I decided to open a small custom furniture business. I couldn't think of a better place to do it than the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina and so TLC Woodcraft was born in 2008.

 

I love the intricacies in each piece of wood that I select and always try to find wood that tells a story. Just as with people, a knot here or there or a little rough spot adds character to the piece. To highlight this character I never use stains. Instead I use hand rubbed clear finishes that let the natural beauty of the wood show through without any embellishments.
